HOFFMAN & SOFFER PARENTING CONSULTANTS

How many times has someone said to you  "enjoy this time" when discussing early parenthood?  Being a new parent is a mixed bag and can be stressful and overwhelming. Drs. Hoffman and Soffer have the expertise and experience to offer personalized guidance and support.  We offer home, office and phone consultations to help with common parenting roadblocks such as sleep problems, feeding issues and postpartum mental health.   Most parenting struggles require an approach that addresses both the emotional impact of the issue as well as getting you the medical and developmental answers you need. Time is precious, especially for parents, so in meeting with us together you get your answers in one place. Ariella Soffer, Ph.D.
Dr. Soffer is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Columbus Circle. She has worked in higher education, inpatient hospitals, and outpatient mental health clinics in clinical and research capacities for the past 10 years. After graduating from Brandeis University, she attended the clinical psychology doctoral program at Fordham University. She has published in the areas of youth fitness, suicide risk, and utilizing data to enhance clinical decisions. One of her practice specialties is maternal health. She has a certificate from the Maternal Mental Health Course through PostPartum Support International and 2020 Mom, was a member of the Seleni Institute Young Parent Roundable, and is a member of the Women's Health Consortium. She believes in a collaborative, supportive and individualized approach in her work. As a mother of two, Dr. Soffer appreciates the daily challenges that parents face, particularly during times of adjustment.

Judith Hoffman, M.D.
Dr. Hoffman is a Board Certified Pediatrician who has an active practice on the Upper West Side of Manhattan. After graduating from the University of Michigan with a degree in Psychology, she came to New York City to attend NYU Medical School. Dr. Hoffman completed her residency training at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital, and has been practicing pediatric medicine for the past 11 years. She has practiced medicine all over the world, including spending time in Australia and Southeast Asia. As both a doctor and a parent to a young child, Dr. Hoffman has a deep understanding of challenges that come up around parenting.  She takes great pleasure in providing personalized, sensitive advice in an open-minded, non-judgmental manner.
